Noise induced hearing loss is preventable!. Advanced Hearing has the perfect solution when it comes to preserving your hearing. Custom earplugs, which protect your ears from noise-induced damage without losing sound quality, are now available. Custom plugs can be manufactured for various noise induced environments providing the maximum amount of noise reduction available by industry standards. These can also be used to block out a snoring partner at sleep time!
Water and moisture can be everywhere, but in your ears when using custom swim plugs from Advanced Hearing. Swim plugs are important if grommets/ventilation tubes are inserted, or if you’re prone to middle ear disease. Various colours are offered to meet everyone’s preferences, young and old.
For many of our audiological tests and procedures, it is important to have the ear canals free of earwax, technically referred to as cerumen. Excessive cerumen blocking the ear canal can cause hearing loss, itching, irritation, pain and fullness.
Our audiologists will use a microscope and suction pump to clean your ear canal and remove wax.
A small metal funnel will be placed gently in your ear canal to enhance the view. Ear suction is carried out with a small sucker attached to a low-pressure suction machine that works like a gentle vacuum cleaner. Ear suction is noisy, and you may feel a bit of discomfort. Occasionally mild dizziness may be experienced for a few seconds.
